While estate agents have perhaps never figured among the most trusted professions, the new figures are particularly dire, representing an increase of 36 percent on 2006, according to Dagens Nyheter.
“The large number of property sales and the increase in the number of estate agents could be part of the explanation for the number of complaints we have received,” Anna-Lena Järvstrand, chairwoman of FMN told DN.
Järvstrand said another reason for the rise in the number of complaints could be that her organization, which regulates the industry based on the Swedish law governing real estate agents, has become better-known.
