The Swedish Post said on Saturday it would issue two new stamps in January honouring Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman, who died in July at the age of 89.

One of the stamps features Bergman directing a scene from his 1982 movie “Fanny and Alexander”, which won an Academy Award for best foreign film.

The black-and-white image shows Bergman instructing actors during the shooting of a Christmas dinner scene. Among the actors visible in the shot is Erland Josephson, one of Bergman’s closest friends.

The other stamp will be a portrait of Bergman based on a photograph taken in 1998.

The stamps will be released on January 24, Swedish Post said in a statement.

The Swedish Post has previously released stamps related to Bergman’s movies such as “Cries and Whispers” and “Wild Strawberries”.
