Summer camp leader ‘filmed children’s changing room’

A youth leader has been arrested on suspicion of filming children in the changing rooms of a summer camp near Stockholm.

The man, who is in his thirties, worked at a camp in the northern Stockholm Archipelago. He was arrested by police on Tuesday evening after staff discovered a camera in the children’s changing room.

“They confronted the group leader, whereupon he left the camp. He was later arrested without incident near Norrtälje,” said Per Löhman of Norrtälje Police.

The camp leader has now been charged with sexual molestation with an alternative charge of molestation. Around 30 children aged between 7 and 13 have been staying at the camp. Tabloid Expressen reports that several parents have already removed their children.

The head of the camp has not commented on the incident.
