Helicopter makes emergency landing for McDonalds lunch

Four power grid inspectors have been questioned by police after landing their helicopter outside a McDonalds in southern Stockholm on Tuesday afternoon.

When lunchtime arrived and hunger got the better of them, the team guided the chopper down onto a grassy verge by the motorway and slipped into the restaurant for a quick burger.

Unbeknownst to the peckish inspectors, however, police soon began receiving reports that a helicopter had made an emergency landing at the Gubbängen rest stop.

But the patrol arriving at the scene soon found that there was no emergency: the crew members were happily enjoying their lunch.

Police and the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority are now investigating whether the team had permission to land their helicopter at the side of the road.
